Canopy Parental Control App
In a world where access to technology is prevalent, and concerns about its impact on young minds and mental health are growing, Canopy offers a comprehensive solution for monitoring and safeguarding your child’s online activities.
Testers gave Canopy Parental Control App strong scores. They described this as an effective app that provides peace of mind to parents while ensuring the safety and protection of their children and teens while navigating their devices. Setting up the app is a breeze, with a simple login and quickly adding your child’s devices. Canopy boasts a variety of features, including detecting and blocking sexual content and sexting before it ever reaches your child’s screen. It covers a wide range of content, including photos involving nudity, swimwear, and lingerie. The app also offers location awareness to monitor your child’s whereabouts, and advanced settings allow you to easily enable or disable different types of content, such as TV screening, YouTube, social media, and messaging apps.
One of the stand-out features is the “downtime,” which works instantaneously and allows you to pause internet access during scheduled times with the press of a button. This comes in handy during family time or bedtime, ensuring a healthy balance between screen time and other activities.
Canopy also impresses with its Removal Prevention feature, which prevents your child or teen from deleting or disabling the app without parental password/permission.
While Canopy focuses primarily on preventing pornographic imagery from reaching children’s devices, it may not filter emails or videos taken on a kid’s device, as noted by some parents. However, the feeling was that this offers more monitoring freedom than other parental control software. At $120 a year, the family plan covers up to 10 devices, which parents felt was appropriate for the level of protection and peace of mind it provides. While features included in the package may already be included in parental controls on some phones, Canopy adds an extra layer of protection and a more user-friendly interface.
