Home Safety For The Mobile Baby

Home Safety For The Mobile Baby

The home that’s safe and comfortable for you can be a literal deathtrap for your crawling or newly-walking baby. Don’t leave childproofing your home until the day she gets moving, you could be one day too late. • Try to see the environment through a crawling baby’s eyes – that means getting down on the […]

Crying Babies Who Can't Be Comforted

Coping with a baby who can’t be comforted is definitely the downside of parenting. When you’ve tried everything and your baby still cries, he can come to be seen as a baby who won’t be comforted, a baby who’s rejecting you on purpose. If you feel yourself getting angry, try to hand him to somebody

Burping Your Baby

Burping Your Baby

There’s always air in your baby’s stomach. He doesn’t only swallow it when feeding, but also when he’s crying, or just breathing. Don’t be fanatical about getting wet air out – you can’t, and you don’t need to. All you have to do is help your baby be comfortable. Some babies swallow enough air to

The Twos: Terrible & Terrific

The Twos: Terrible & Terrific

Toddlers exist on a seesaw, with dependent babyhood at one end and independent childhood at the other. Neither is just right, because he’s neither a baby or a child. As a parent of a two year old, you have to sit in the middle and keep the balance. Baby him, and he’ll fight for independence,

Crawling And Creeping

Crawling And Creeping

Conventional crawling means progressing across the floor on hands and knees, but babies aren’t concerned with convention — only with getting across the room to see something on the far side! Crawling can mean different kinds of progress. Some babies never really crawl at all – they develop rolling over to a point where they

Waking Early In The Morning

Waking Early In The Morning

Your baby doesn’t know what time it is, so it’s up to you to decide where to draw the line between night and day. If your baby sleeps soundly for five or six hours, and wakes at five, he’ll certainly be hungry, thirsty and soaking wet. He won’t go back to sleep without a feeding

Colic: Living With It

Colic: Living With It

There is no specific medicine for colic so don’t run through over-the-counter remedies. Only give medicine your pediatrician prescribes. Nothing you can do for your baby will end a colic attack until it is ready to let up anyway, but everything you do will help a little bit, and that means you’ll be busy trying

Sleep: Your Child & You

Sleep: Your Child & You

Broken nights and too little sleep are parents’ most common complaint. I am going to deal with some of the ways you might be able to prevent nighttime from becoming problem time in your household. The times at which we fall asleep and wake again have a lot to do with habit. Staying up late

Bottle Feeding: Hygienic Precautions

Milk is an ideal breeding ground for bacteria, so if even a few get into your baby’s milk, they can multiply rapidly. That is why you need to be so much more fussy about the hygiene of your baby’s bottles than the hygiene of anything else she puts into her mouth, like her hands or

HOW IT WORKS

A Seal of Approval review involves a multi-step process conducted over an eight-week period.

Parents and children, experience and review submitted products and services either already released or coming to market.

Participants fill out questionnaires for each product or service they test. They score based on 13 levels of criteria including quality, appeal, design, price, packaging, directions, desirability, stimulation, replay factor, and more. Results are based on both statistical averaging and comments received by testers.

There are three testing periods each year:
