We all know what is lurking “out there” on the Internet. We have all stumbled on “those” sites and shudder at the thought of our kids doing the same even while doing research for school. The people behind netTrekker, a very impressive online search tool for parents, teachers and students, really did their homework. Theirs […]

Big Flyer

Big Flyer

The eyes of our young testers lit up when they caught a glimpse of the Big Flyer in our testing centers. Eager to hop on and take it for a spin, kids really loved the feel of the Big Flyer in their hands. The laid back position, the big, raised handlebars and the cool flag

My First Scooter

My First Scooter

When it comes to the opinion our testers had about this preschool aged scooter there is good news and better news. First of all, the fact that the scooter comes pre-assembled was a big, big plus. The fold-up design, which makes storage a snap also got a thumbs up. When it comes to riding, well

pediped footwear

Do babies really need to wear shoes? If you ask our testers you’ll find them split right down the middle. But, if you ask them what they think of the pediped shoes in our testing centers, they will all tell you how incredibly adorable and gorgeous they are. What’s not to gush over? These are

For the most part the game remains the same as the classic version however players must keep in mind the direction that pieces

Crazy Machines 1.5

Crazy Machines 1.5

If there is another game out there as fun, challenging or addictive as Crazy Machines then we haven’t seen it and neither have our testers. For those of you familiar with Rube Goldberg contraptions you’ll remember that his creations took whatever path and used whatever means necessary to reach a stated goal. The same goes

Gary Gadget: Building Cars

There is something delightfully retro and yet refreshing about Gary Gadget. In this era of video games that feature pedal to the metal graphics, this game lets the game play speak for itself and according to our testers it really hits the mark. Children are given the task of creating cars from all kinds of

Kapla Toys

Kapla Toys

Let your mind take flight and then let the simple genius of the Kapla building system take you wherever you want to go. That was the sentiment in our testing center’s as parents and children discovered the wonderfully retro feel of Kapla’s wooden building set. Children started cautiously at first, but with some encouragement and

PureSpace

PureSpace

When it comes to germs we all have different thresholds of acceptability, some might say a quiet resignation to their onslaught. While we can’t eliminate germs from our lives we can take steps to reduce our exposure to them. When it comes to germs we can combat, including those that live and grow on items

HOW IT WORKS

A Seal of Approval review involves a multi-step process conducted over an eight-week period.

Parents and children, experience and review submitted products and services either already released or coming to market.

Participants fill out questionnaires for each product or service they test. They score based on 13 levels of criteria including quality, appeal, design, price, packaging, directions, desirability, stimulation, replay factor, and more. Results are based on both statistical averaging and comments received by testers.

There are three testing periods each year:
