Tri-bot

Tri-bot

There is no denying the shelf appeal of the latest Wowwee robot. Testers flocked to the bright red, smiley faced robot, eager to see what he could do. The first impressive feature is the three durable wheels which make multi-directional maneuvering a breeze. Next up is the controller which is very intuitively designed so that

Alive Lion Cub

Trying to recreate animals in a lifelike fashion is a very difficult task, especially if you are trying to pass off your creation to a demanding and perhaps even skeptical audience. Given the degree of difficulty we were pleasantly surprised to read the reviews from our testers who reported that their children were in fact

Skuut

Skuut

Not every child begins their bicycle riding life on a tricycle; in fact many parents are of the school of thought that the sooner children learn balance, steering and coordination the sooner they can transition to a “regular” bike. Spy Wire

Spy Wire

A truly challenging and exiting game. Our testers conquered their initial trepidation when they saw the assembly involved it setting this game up. In actuality it looks harder than it is. Some testers saw Spy Wire as very new update on the classic game of Stratego and they could be on to something there. Of

Spy Trackdown

Spy Trackdown

A wildly clever game, unlike any our testers had played before the enthusiasm was palpable. The directions to this new and different game were quite clear and once you get the hang of pushing “spy codes” you were all set and ready to head off to find the “covert” spies, using status reports and an

Animal Scramble

Animal Scramble

A truly well designed game is like a breath a fresh air, especially when it is able to capture the attention of very young children. Featuring clear and simple instructions and sturdy plastic pieces that can take a beating and still look new, parents gave glowing reviews to this new Wild Planet offering. It ingeniously

Mini Changing System

Mini Changing System

A uniquely designed changing pad for smaller diaper bags, you will be able to carry a couple of diapers and a small number of wipes, making it perfect for quick trips. It was the size and simplicity of the system that really appealed to our testers. Being able to fit it on top of changing

Songs of the Sea

Songs of the Sea

Filled with a great assortment of songs, music, recipies and art, it feels as if the folks at Alfred Publishing went to great lengths to cram everything but the kitchen sink inside the pages of this book and music CD. The songs were met with enthusiasm by our testers who found them upbeat and lent

HOW IT WORKS

A Seal of Approval review involves a multi-step process conducted over an eight-week period.

Parents and children, experience and review submitted products and services either already released or coming to market.

Participants fill out questionnaires for each product or service they test. They score based on 13 levels of criteria including quality, appeal, design, price, packaging, directions, desirability, stimulation, replay factor, and more. Results are based on both statistical averaging and comments received by testers.

There are three testing periods each year:
