Big Dig Dino Model: Triceratops
Parents agreed that this is not your typical dig and excavate project. MindWare has created a kit that is much more challenging, sturdy and harder to dig and excavate than others they have tried. As a result the consensus of opinion is that this is a high-quality, ingenious and unique activity. The rock that they have the “dinosaur bones” encased in is a lot like real rock and mud which serves to make the experience last much longer since it is harder to chip away and get to the bones. Parents thought that was a huge plus. The dinosaur bones buried inside are nicely detailed and strong as well. The chisels are strong and well made. The process of excavation can be quite messy and dirty so it is suggested to cover your work area with paper. Most parents suggested setting this outside. The directions are easy to read and helpful as it is likely that your child has not used chisels before. Testers were delighted to find a kit that engaged their kids and simultaneously promoted a love of science, creativity, imagination, patience, and focus.
