Biome Builder
Biome Builder is an educational experience disguised as a card game inside a small, colorful, box featuring beautiful thematic graphics of plants, animals, birds, and fish. Testers were impressed with the attention to detail involved in every aspect of this game from the earthy colored wooden tokens to the feel of the cards. The cards have a good amount of flex without bending, and the cards’ texture is easy to grip. The game consists of four biome habitats: Amazon Rainforest, North American Prairie, Sahara Desert, and the Pacific Ocean. The object of the game is to build food chains within these habitats from plant to apex predator. It will take some initial concentration to get the hang of it, and the instructions could stand some revision, but parents told us that patience pays off. Game play is roughly 10 to 15 min. which felt like a manageable, satisfying length of time. The game will absolutely stimulate conversation, and everyone will learn something they never knew.
