I Know It (iknowit.com)
Gone are the days of only brick and mortar learning institutions, a new day is upon us! A hybrid learning approach to virtual learning, as well as traditional in-classroom instruction, is our shared new reality. I Know It, as its empowering name suggests, is an incredible interactive review tool, and a great supplement to math lessons learned from teachers online or in person. The interface is simple, clear, and intuitive, yet attractive and colorful, and each set of questions is punctuated by cute animations that motivate kids to try their best to answer the questions correctly. The curriculum ranges from grades K-5 and is linked to the Common Core State Standards, making it a terrifically relevant tool. Our testers uniformly agreed that the developers did a great job of understanding parents, teachers, and children’s needs, hopes, and wishes. Children can explore the vast array of topics by themselves, or parents and teachers can easily assign sets of questions to all or specific children in their class or family. You can choose when/how the assignments will be considered completed, adjust the number of questions to keep children engaged (this is key, as children may lose interest if the number of questions is too high and the lesson becomes too repetitive), etc. You can also decide if you want to give as many hints as the child wants, only a few, or no hints at all. The number of customizable features is nothing short of amazing. When a question is answered incorrectly, an explanation is given, reinforcing the concepts and empowering the child with more autonomy. Plus, as a parent or teacher, you can access every child’s progress in detail, which is a very effective way to keep track of your children’s expanding skills. This allows you to be able to step in and support them where they need it, without taking too much time off your day supervising them at every step.
