IDO3D 3D Print Shop
3D is everywhere and there is considerable excitement as the once only high-tech device has become more affordable and scaled down so that kids can use and learn the technology. For people who have been following the growth of 3D and know what it can (and cannot) do, there is a caveat when it comes to this printer, it is not a traditional 3D printer. More of a primer, a taste and maybe even a peek into what can be, would be a more apt description. Again, this is a $60 product aimed at kids, to expect anything more would be a bit unrealistic. That said what kids will be able to do is watch as both premade molds, and one’s your child makes on their own, get filled with a plastic resin and then become objects they can manipulate. Parents and kids were very excited about the design that actually looks and feels like a high-end 3D mold maker. Over and over they told us it was really fun to use, often pointing out the lights and the bright colors of the print shop. Parents appreciated that RedwoodVentures includes a good amount of material so that your kids can create a number of objects before you’ll need to head out for more.
