Have you tried using sticker charts or time outs in an attempt to teach or correct behaviors? Have they been less than effective? Meet Kudo Banz, a new kind of reward system designed to help you “empower and build a strong, happy family through positive parenting”. Pretty lofty goal. So how does Kudo Banz do it? It begins with a system of rubber bracelets, charms/kudos and an app. Once you are set up you’ll gather the kids and read the nicely illustrated storybook that introduces the concept of the band and how it works. Everything needed to effectively change your childrens behavior is included – book, bands, charms and a carrying pouch for them all. So why does this work? Parents told us that rather than just placing a sticker on a chart, kids love getting cool charms/kudos to put on their bands. Once 3 kudos are earned, the 3rd kudo is scanned by the app and unlocks the reward wheel which you customize. One reason, sticker charts fail is that most of the time the chart isn’t with you or nearby. Not so with Kudo Banz which are on your child’s wrist while you can easily carry the small, colorful kudos along with your phone and the app. Many parents told us that Kudo Banz motivated their children who were now enthusiastic about doing chores and behaving well.
