Leaps and Ledges

From the moment our testers saw the brightly colored box that Leaps and Ledges came in there was a “hurry up and open it” feeling in the room. Once open the vibrant colors and shapes did nothing to diminish the growing enthusiasm. A little bit of Jenga mixed with a dash of Sorry! revved up to new heights was how some testers described what came next. The durable plastic tower which climbs 16 levels was quite easy to both assemble and disassemble. The gameplay is a combination of fun and ruthlessness. You could gently take an opponent’s piece off the board sending it back to Start, or you can actually knock it off its ledge. Guess which one our testers felt was more satisfying! The playing cards are easy to read, colorful and durable. The Rampage, Wild and Precision cards added a terrific level of dynamic gameplay and strategy. Parents felt that the game promoted critical thinking, logic, patience, problem-solving and spatial awareness. Those were all appreciated as was the fact that everything fit nicely back into the box when it was time to clean up.

HOW IT WORKS

A Seal of Approval review involves a multi-step process conducted over an eight-week period.

Parents and children, experience and review submitted products and services either already released or coming to market.

Participants fill out questionnaires for each product or service they test. They score based on 13 levels of criteria including quality, appeal, design, price, packaging, directions, desirability, stimulation, replay factor and more. Results are based on both statistical averaging and comments received by testers.

There are three testing periods each year:

Each submission must be accompanied by a $295 product testing fee (we offer multiple submission discounts). This fee covers the cost of testing, nothing more. It is non-refundable and has no bearing on the result of the testing. Additionally, we require three samples of the product or access codes for online submissions.
