LeapFrog has created a fun little activity mat for toddlers with bright, colorful circles that definitely appealed to our little testers. The mat features baby animal illustrations holding different instruments that play when stepped on. Each number/animal plays a different song, and then, while that song is playing, your child can step on the other animals/numbers to add that instrument to the song. While kids find the games fun, it also is effective at encouraging children to exercise by waving their arms, tiptoeing, jumping or stepping to different parts of the mat. Parent testers reported that the mat was extremely easy to set up, the buttons are responsive and, thankfully, there are 2 volumes available. Parents felt that the materials used will definitely hold up over time, are easy to clean (thanks to the soft fabric like plastic surface) ,and it won’t slip and slide on a hard surface since LeapFrog uses a thin foam underneath. A final appreciated feature was how small the mat can fold up when not in use.
