Micronoid blue basher by Meccano is a combination product that gives your child the tools to build, program, and play with a small sized robot. This is designed for a younger age group than Spin Master’s Meccanoid line and as such some things, like the robot’s head are prebuilt. There are 139 pieces that parents felt was a very manageable number for the suggested age. The instructions are well written and easy to follow. The blue blaster requires building and making connections which helps develop dexterity and mechanical ability. The construction parts are interchangeable and flexible depending on how your child chooses to assemble them. The main unit is a programmable piece that is responsible for bringing the robot to life. Two sensors, which look like eyes, enable the robot to interact with motion around it. Parents were very impressed with this toy which is really an introduction to programming and early robotics. They found the price to be affordable and well.
