Pingpole – Giraf & Yetis
The Pingpole board game is really two games in one, both of which you have likely seen before, but never quite like this. One side of the board has elements reminiscent of a wooden pinball machine, the game “Fastrack,” and features the ever popular Angry Birds. To play, you slingshot a round wooden piece (with a sticker of a penguin on it) and see where it lands. Think pinball and shuffleboard/curling. We all had fun seeing how good we could get at aiming the little penguins and have them land just where you want them. If you are more competitive, your thrill may come when you knock into and displace your opponent’s penguin. This is nice game that is quick to play and not necessarily ultra competitive. The other side of the board, Giraf and Yetis, is BOJEUX’s take on “Chutes and Ladders,” and allows for up to 4 players at a time. Depending on where you land, you might be lucky enough to ride up a giraffe’s neck or you might have the misfortune of sliding down a yeti’s arm. The drawings are artful and sweet, the game is simple to play, and only lasts a short amount of time.
