Science Junior Subscription
Little Passports’ Science Junior is a subscription kit that arrives at your home in a nice, well-branded, padded envelope that children will easily recognize and look forward to receiving every month. Inside each envelope, you’ll find everything your child will need for that month’s project. Each kit comes with a well-made booklet with fun comics and loads of information about the topic they’re learning about that month. For example, the solar robot kit has a comic about people who worked in a robotics factory. Children learn what all the various robots could do and how they all worked. After the initial educational piece, it’s time for the project or experiment. The instructions are extremely easy to follow and include step-by-step details with photos. An extra added bonus is that each kit has more than one task for the child to do. For example, with the solar robot kit, a child can read the comic and build a basic solar robot. But, it also comes with additional robot arms and markers that they can use to have their robot “draw.” There is also a game for them to play. Parents felt that the 5 to 8-year-old age range was spot on and also liked that everything is sealed in a clear plastic bag, so you don’t have to worry about any damage if the envelope were to get wet. If your child can read, they will be able to do this entirely on their own. If a child cannot read, they will still be able to do the kits and experiments; they will just need a little assistance from an adult or an older child. The clear consensus among testers was that this would be a terrific gift to give a child since it is a gift that keeps on giving.
