It’s no secret that we are fans of products that encourage a love of geography, a subject which is all to often cut in many school systems for budgetary reasons. The globe stands alone but the magic happens when you pull out an iPad, download the free app and watch it come to life. Kids knew what to do almost immediately. This is Augmented Reality and while that may be foreign to many parents, it is practically second nature to this generation. The experience is transformative as it indeed puts the world in your children’s hands. Exploration is theirs for the taking. Kids excitedly dove deep into the culture of all the countries including games, captivating stories and easy-to-retain facts about indigenous animals, and other notable regional data. They can also have fun, play games and complete challenges. As they do they earn coins by visiting different areas which gave kids a real sense of pride and accomplishment. Taken as a whole this is very educational and informative, it promotes an important academic subject and fosters creativity, curiosity, attention, imagination and focus. Taking a traditional globe that was in every childs room decades ago PlayShifu gives it a radical, technologically-advanced update. Parents were impressed with the hardware, a durable, high-quality, well-made globe that is blends seamlessly with top-notch learning.

HOW IT WORKS

A Seal of Approval review involves a multi-step process conducted over an eight-week period.

Parents and children, experience and review submitted products and services either already released or coming to market.

Participants fill out questionnaires for each product or service they test. They score based on 13 levels of criteria including quality, appeal, design, price, packaging, directions, desirability, stimulation, replay factor and more. Results are based on both statistical averaging and comments received by testers.

There are three testing periods each year:

Each submission must be accompanied by a $295 product testing fee (we offer multiple submission discounts). This fee covers the cost of testing, nothing more. It is non-refundable and has no bearing on the result of the testing. Additionally, we require three samples of the product or access codes for online submissions.
