The Balance – Hungry Higgs
The Balance – Hungry Higgs is a wholly unique game, a twist on chess and checkers with an exciting element of balance and physics mixed in. This is one of those games that, initially, seems relatively easy to pick up. The game is all about balance of mass within a defined space or field of play. The idea of the game is to move pieces around the playing field to capture and move the mass, or weight, to your area until one of the players either captures the other players pieces or the masses in the players’ areas become unbalanced causing the playing field to rest on the table. That might sound complicated, but the fact is that the game can be played lightheartedly and move quite quickly. After a few games you’ll come to realize there are options to begin using very novel or complex strategy in head to head challenges. A few testers likened it to Risk or Stratego. Every time testers played Balance, they told us how it sparked a fascinating conversation about motion and balance. The game is well manufactured and feels nice to the touch. It is made of high-quality plastic that is solid and durable. The Balance is an excellent example of game design where play can be very quick and easy where anyone can win without a lot of expertise, or it can be genuinely thought-provoking, intriguing, challenging, and a real match of dueling minds.
