Using a wonderfully conceived children’s book, the issue of bullying is truly tackled head on. Bullying is nothing new but it has become the focus of more and more deserved scrutiny and prosecution. That all sounds pretty heavy, this book is quite the opposite. The colorful, friendly, ocean-based characters grab your child’s attention with great illustrations and settings that are quite intriguing. The story tackles bullying head on by teaching that nobody likes a bully, that bullying alienates you, and that it is important to stand up both for others and for what is right. Kids learn that doing the right thing feels good, so does being a hero and it’s easier than you might think. It also teaches about loving others including your enemies.
