Venture Party is a unique fantasy card game that features beautiful graphics and illustrations for players 13 and up. Game play requires anywhere from 3 to 7 players who must concentrate on “hand management” to emerge victorious. We found that teens were very familiar and comfortable with the fantasy theme and setting and therefore picked up on it quicker than many of their parents. And that’s fine. Each of the players serve as leaders of their Venture Party making moves through their turns until finally the player with the strongest Venture Party wins the game. The game has some nice humorous elements. The way the cards describe the different methods that characters of the party die are particularly amusing. The cards have humorous death scenes written on them (sure to delight a teen’s sense of humor). The graphics on the cards are also funny and well-drawn. The eye-catching game box serves as a strong sturdy storage box. An included draw string bag provides for safe keeping of the cards. Venture Party has great replay value and is a fun game to introduce to friends.
