Little Mommy Doctor Mommy Doll
We need to begin the review of this toy/doll by saying that teaching little girls that they can grow up to be doctors is something that really resonated with all our testers, the name of this doll did not. OK, so Mattel whiffed on the name but for imagination play value they struck gold. The doll talks (quite legibly) about various illnesses that pop up and require the care and nurturing of your child, in this case “Mommy.” Children are given the tools they need to complete a diagnosis such as a thermometer, stethoscope, knee hammer (yes her knee reflex does work), tongue depressor and more. The experience is very engaging and interactive. Her forehead even gets red when she has a fever. Parents felt that the play factor was effective on several fronts. One, children became more comfortable with the idea that sometimes we all get sick and its nothing to be afraid of and two, going to the doctor shouldn’t be something to be scared of.
