Parents always appreciate and are impressed by companies that think outside the box. In this case, PlayShifu gained their admiration for the way they successfully combined technology with real hands-on experience. Math, problem-solving, critical thinking and comprehension skills are engaged and challenged in ways worksheets just cannot do. Parents will need to be involved in setting up the app first, but that only takes a few minutes, and then your child can take it from there. You choose the grade level your child is in and the Plugo App guides you through the rest. There is a story that progresses based on which equations the player is getting right. Testers were really impressed with how the difficulty increases as the childs progress, customizing the experience to their level. Its a fun mix between watching a show, reading a book and learning math. The hardware included here includes a gamepad on which you place the tablet and the counting base which is an appealing gender-neutral blue, while the counting base looks like a sun. The design is eye-catching and attractive. Shifu Plugo surely makes math more fun than ever. Parents felt the price was right when taking into account the long-lasting and engaging experience. They also thought it was an excellent investment in their childrens education and a brilliant way to make screen time more engaging and educational.

HOW IT WORKS

A Seal of Approval review involves a multi-step process conducted over an eight-week period.

Parents and children, experience and review submitted products and services either already released or coming to market.

Participants fill out questionnaires for each product or service they test. They score based on 13 levels of criteria including quality, appeal, design, price, packaging, directions, desirability, stimulation, replay factor and more. Results are based on both statistical averaging and comments received by testers.

There are three testing periods each year:

Each submission must be accompanied by a $295 product testing fee (we offer multiple submission discounts). This fee covers the cost of testing, nothing more. It is non-refundable and has no bearing on the result of the testing. Additionally, we require three samples of the product or access codes for online submissions.
